Why We Started a CBG Business
My wife and I often discussed starting a small family farm since the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill, making hemp federally legal. When we heard about the first hemp convention coming to Texas, I signed up to see if we could make a dream come true from people who were actually doing it.
It was a massive event with three days of lectures on everything CBD (from how to grow hemp to legalese) straight from cannabis industry experts and access to hundreds of vendors. Every day I spent hours in various classrooms (painfully perching on a hard metal chair), and later, I'd rush to talk to as many suppliers as possible.
My back hurt so badly on the third day that I could barely walk across the showroom. When I saw a padded chair in a hemp seed booth, I headed for it. The salesman could tell I was hurting and asked if there was anything he could do.
I said, "Just tell me the best CBD product for pain relief." He smiled and said, "CBG." Then he told me about a new, 'high-strain' CBG seed variety they had recently tested with awe-inspiring results.
When I got home, we did intensive CBG research that proved everything he said. The more we learned, the more we liked CBG and CBGa. We bought some sample products, which worked for us and everyone we shared it with. So, of course, we started our own CBG hemp farm and family business.

We fell in love with two fantastic cannabinoids—CBG and CBGa—and we're determined to share them with everyone because they are wonderful for us, our family, and our friends.
Making It Possible
That's why we use a 'high-strain' CBG seed species explicitly created for indoor growing that also provides a higher yield.
We only use 100% USDA-certified organic compounds and OMRI (Organic Materials Review Institute) rated organic products on our farm. All organic listed soil inputs and amendments help our CBG hemp plants stay happy and healthy. We use all-natural living soil and even include our own earthworms. We also use organic worm compost tea to feed the soil and the plants. We only use natural pest control like ladybugs if we have any problems.
We now have our own proprietary CBG and CBGa oil blends and have created techniques that help us produce higher quantities of CBG and grow bigger, better crops. Plus, we improve every time we learn something new. We've learned a lot, resolved some tricky problems, and even upgraded equipment.
Hemp farming is a full-time job, and it's not easy to grow high-quality medicinal-grade CBG hemp flowers because it is extremely sensitive, but nothing's too hard if you love what you do. And we do love it!
Why Topical Products?
QuickZen CBG and CBGa products are created with all-natural components (not isolates) and are both sensitive to heat. Their chemical properties may break down into other cannabinoids (like CBD, CBC, etc.) due to internal body heat and enzymes when taken orally. However, if you bypass the stomach, you can still get all the benefits without losing CBG and CBGa's unique properties.
That's why we suggest using all of our products externally (on your skin directly) because your skin is your body's largest organ.
What's In Each Product:
Oils - We handcraft small batches of our own indoor, organically-grown CBG hemp flowers and combine them with 100% USDA-Certified Organic Coconut MCT oil to make our oil products. And if scented, we use 100% USDA-Certified Organic essential oil.
Salves - Our salves are made with QuickZen oils and 100% USDA-certified organic beeswax. The scented salves include 100% USDA-Certified Organic essential oil with eight unique fragrances - and Unscented, too.
So, there are only two all-natural ingredients in our unscented oil products, three in our scented oils and unscented salves, and only four ingredients in our scented salves.
Pure and simple.
A Lot of Certified Lab Tests
Once our CBG or CBGa oil or salve production process is complete, we send it to the lab for important safety testing.
Every QuickZen 'batch lot' is tested by an Approved and Certified 3rd-party laboratory for potency and purity. Each lot is tested for a Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) for a potency profile and heavy metals, bacteria, toxins, pesticides, and solvents. Our products are tested at the strictest (food-grade) safety standards, down to parts per billion.
Every QuickZen product on our site shows which 'lot number' it belongs to and includes the actual lab test results. You can also scan the QR code on every test page (and on every product label) to see the authentic test results directly from the lab. So, you can download the certified lab test report pages or see them on every product detail page on this site. We also include a photo of the first lab page (for a quick potency summary) on each product's detail page.
The lab uses high-performance liquid chromatography because it can characterize the 100+ cannabinoids extracted from the cannabis plant. Various tests performed (at the strictest levels) by the lab prove that a product is safe and the product’s THC levels are below the 0.3% threshold set in the Farm Bill.
All of these certified 3rd-party facilities tests may not be required by law in all US states (yet), but we do it to ensure there are no harmful ingredients in QuickZen products.
Lots of Love
We had family members, neighbors, friends, and even friends of friends with little aches or pains, from minor home accidents to sports injuries.
So we gave them samples from our first salve 'tested-run' to see if CBG and CBGa products could help them. And also to get feedback on their favorite scents before we opened the QuickZen store. Of course, we used all of their favorite fragrances: Bergamot (one of our favorites), Bulgarian Lavender, Fir Balsam, Juniper, Patchouli, Peppermint, Wild Mint, and Ylang Ylang (another favorite).
Our first test salve was created with a very low-strength formula to see how it worked, and the feedback has been super positive! Thank you all!
We were surprised at how well the first batch of CBG did work (for 8 out of 10 people), even with very low total cannabinoid counts. The other two out of ten people reported favorable results with continued use. Thanks for the feedback!
